The Section started in 1992 with a few members of 50 years plus and in April 2017 celebrated its 21st Anniversary with today’s 48 members, along with many ex members now retired from Golf.
Every Thursday morning during the summer season you will see the members teeing up for their game between 9.06 and 10.30am and in winter between 9.27 and 10.30am. All tee times can be booked on the clubs BRS system.
There are now five competitions with varied formats, monthly medals, a pairs competition, and a knock out for Handicap Champion of the year. At the beginning and end of the summer season we have two friendly mixed pairs games with the Senior Gents section including lunch, and still have time for a few fun games within the summer season.
A good variety of handicaps are held within the section.
We are members of the BLSGA (Buchan Ladies Senior Golf Association) along with eight other clubs and over twenty of our section are members. Other clubs include Peterhead, Oldmeldrum, Turriff, Fraserburgh, Longside, Newburgh, Ellon and Cruden Bay. There are always spaces for new members to join.
We have our annual outing in June and although a very relaxed day we still have a trophy to play for.
Another yearly date is our Christmas Lunch which includes the sections prize giving of the summer monthly medals and years trophy winners.
We are a very friendly group who enjoy our golf – weather permitting, but if it’s inclement and we can’t or don’t play, you will still see many in the clubhouse having coffee and a blether.
