Welcome to our new greenkeeping page that will give you insight to a lot of what’s happening and how the course is looked after.

Latest update
As you have probably already seen, there has been a lot of much needed Winter work carried out all over the course in the last few months with KSM Land services carrying out our tree management work, beginning at the 2nd and 18th tees, left of the 6th and 8th, highlighting the pine tree at the 14th fairway, behind the 15th green and thinning out between the 14th tee and 16th green to allow better airflow and sunlight for the surrounding area.
They have also ‘mulched’ areas that were overgrown with scrub and gorse, these areas are now being cleaned up with the aim for natural grasses and flora to replace the gorse and scrub.
‘In house’ we have remodelled the ditch in front of the 13th green, deepening it and make 2 small polls to add feature, we also made new ditches by the 14th tees leading up to the right of the 16th green to help with drainage.
More Winter projects are being looked at for future works, we will notify you in advance of the next projects.
Look out for a lot more information and insights on why we do certain jobs out on the course on this page.

Note to all members
Just a polite reminder that next week (7th April) we will have our course maintenance when all greens will be on the winter green locations allowing us to safely carry out the work and for us not to delay your round, we have booked in the work to take place from Monday to Friday but if we finish the work earlier we will put the greens back in play and notify you if this occurs.
The works being carried out is –
- Scarifying at 5mm to remove moss and built-up thatch on the surfaces
- Verti-drain with 17mm solid tines to a depth of 22cm
- Verti-drain with 12mm solid tines to a depth of 18cm
- Procore with 12mm solid tines to a depth of 12cm
- Apply 100 tons of top-dressing sand to fill in the holes to relieve compaction, dilute the thatch and promote healthy root growth
Once this has been done, we will apply a high potassium granular fertiliser to encourage good root growth.
On to another topic, we are not even through the first week of the season and are unfortunately seeing a lot of bad etiquette out on the course, divots being taken out of collars of the greens, trolleys being taken over tees, divots out of tees from practice swings pointing well away from line of play and unrepaired pitch marks, please be mindful of looking after your golf course.
