It maybe short but the 10th offers plenty of green side protection.

The 11th green is a small target even for those with a wedge in their hands.

Great Fundraising – Members Challenge
Friday 4th August

On Friday 4th August two teams of Members raise over £1,000 for the youngsters of  St Andrews  School in Inverurie. Ian Duguid’s team  “The Bobby Dazzlers” snatched a victory from  Jimmy Welsh’s “Welshys Wonders “  and celebrated in style with the gallant losers having to take a wee bit of ribbing from their fellow members.

Speaking after the event the winning captain Ian Duguid said “ What a great day golf we had and so much fun and laughter along the way . While it’s great to win and tease the opposition , we can all be happy that the real winners will be the kids of St Andrews School . I’m hopeful that we can make this an annual fundraiser – I’m sure our opponents will be keen to get some revenge!”

Members do their bit to raise money for Cancer charity
Tuesday 20th June

On Tuesday 20th June, four of our members took part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge to support a cancer charity.

At Inverurie Golf Club, the four friends completed 72 holes in one day which took over 16 hours and nearly 20 miles of walking with no buggies or trolleys. The money raised will be donated to the Macmillan Cancer Support.

The four Inverurie friends, Daniel Adams, Michael Walls, Craig Anderson and Scott West all aged 19 wanted to take on this challenge for the very worthwhile cause.

Daniel said “It was something we all wanted to do, we wanted to give something back and we all enjoy playing golf so it seemed like a great thing to do.” Craig said ‘We all went to school together and saw this opportunity, we know that last year over £1.5million was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. We really wanted the chance to do our bit.’ Michael said ‘We all practised regularly before the event to make sure we were all up for the gruelling challenge.’

He continued ‘we initially tried to book the course on the longest day Wednesday 21st but as this is a medal day at Inverurie Golf Club there wasn’t an opportunity for us to book the course. The club were very supportive and offered us four separate tee times on the Tuesday. Club Manager Fiona Murray said ‘We think this is a great thing the lads are doing and we were very happy to accommodate them’Scott continued ‘We have been sharing the link on our Facebook pages to try and raise sponsorship for this event. We would encourage everyone to give what they can to this worthwhile cause’.
